Firmware Update
1. Overview
The linux system of the miro Edge gateway and the firmware on the integrated miro EdgeCard can be updated by the user. The following sections will guide you through the updated process.
2. Prerequisites
To perform the updated of the miro Edge gateway you need:
-
A USB stick of at least 16 MB, formated with FAT32 file system
-
The latest miro Edge firmware image
Please make sure to use the correct firmware image. Miromico supports both regular LoRaWAN frequencies, and the newer 2.4GHz version. |
You also might consider to save the current configuration to restore it after the update. This can be done using the web frontend of the miro Edge Gateway.
3. Update Procedure
3.1. Prepare the USB Stick
-
Download the latest miro Edge firmware image and save it to a USB stick. The USB stick has to be formated with a FAT32 file system.
-
Copy the image into the root folder of the stick and rename the file to lks7688.img.
-
Remove the stick from your computer and plug it into the USB port of the gateway.
3.2. Start the Update
-
With the USB stick plugged into the miro Edge, use a wire (e.g. open paper-clip) to press and hold the reset button.
-
Keep the reset button pressed until the WLAN LED goes out.
-
Release the reset button and wait for the update procedure to complete.
-
The WLAN LED stops flashing as soon as the update is finished.
Do not disconnect power while update is in progress. |
3.3. Complete the Update
The flash file system is updated and all settings are reset to factory default. The update may take several minutes, as the integrated miro EdgeCard is also updated to the latest firmware.
Once the update is completed use the integrated web frontend to change the gateway configuration, such as LoRaWAN® network server and antenna settings.
